Update for the week of October 15, 2013

Hello all!

Hope you are enjoying your fall break and taking the time to work on your pieces/speeches.....we are three weeks away from our first meet in Fishers!

This week will be holding one practice on Wednesday, October 16th from 3:15-5pm in CC 245 at IUPUC. This is the same room we were in last week.We will work on both Interp and PA events at this practice. Remember, we will also be running a practice discussion round for the discussers, focused on the topic of GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN.

Remember tomorrow (10/16) is the deadline for piece selection -- meaning you need to have your pieces selected and rough cut, so both Matt and I can review them before you have to memorize them or start practicing their delivery. Before we got to our first meet, we will need electronic copies of each of your pieces, so that we will have them available on the off chance (which is super rare) that they are ever challenged at a meet.

Our judges training has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 24th from 7-8:30pm in the CEHS cafeteria. Anyone you are planning on having judge this season should plan to attend this meeting. Remember to be a judge, you only need to be above of the age of 18, have a high school diploma, and be breathing!

We need to submit our registration for the Fishers Meet (11/2) the morning of Monday, October 28th -- therefore, Matt and I need to hear from those of you who are planning on competing and what events you are planning on competing in. If you are planning on competing in IMPROV DUO, you can triple at this meet. So those of you who are considering this temporary event are also welcome to compete in your two regular events if you would like -- but please let us know. We will need a final registration tally by Friday, October 25th at practice.

Lastly, we are in need of one more judge to join us for the meet at Noblesville High School on November 9th. If you know someone who would be able to help us, please let Anna as soon as possible.

See you tomorrow!
