We had a great day yesterday at the Southport Speech and Debate Smackdown. The tournament was full of very tough competition from around the state, but everyone seemed to have a good time and spoke very well.
Results:
Ash Sowerby - 3rd Novice Prose
Isaac Harper - 5th Novice Discussion
Austin Lewis - 4th Varsity Declamation
Olivia Fahey - 5th Varsity Declamation
They only gave ribbons to fifth place in individual events, but we had many students in the top ten of their events. While we did not bring home any hardware, we placed 12th out of 31 teams at the tournament - something to be proud!
Onto our home meet this week!
